Grey Phoenix

The Criterion Collection sells top-quality prints of significant films. Phoenix is a deep psychological drama about a woman sent to a concentration camp during the Holocaust, possibly betrayed by her husband. When she returns, thanks to plastic surgery for a bullet wound, the man does not recognize her. Read more about it here.

My interest here is in the DVD/Blueray cover photo specially created for Criterion showing the star, Nina Hoss, wrapped in clouds of viscous, grey smoke.
